Timaree Eileen Schlueter

Timaree Eileen Schlueter was born after 11 hours of labor. Contractions began around 6:30pm while Kirk and I were having dinner. At around 10:30pm we left the house and began the 45 minute drive to the hospital. I was admitted to the hospital around midnight and delivered Timaree at 5:32am on Monday, November 8th. She weighted 7lbs. 13oz. and was 20 inches long.

37 Weeks

All I can say is life has a plan for you. I have spent the last three school years trying to get a contracted teaching job without success. And what do you know, I finally signed a teaching contract one month before I am due. It was interesting signing the paperwork for higher and maternity leave at the same time. I have been working with my class since the beginning of the school year but now I am official. I am a morning Kindergarten teacher! The best part is that I will get to be home in the afternoons with the little one. I am doing well overall. I have been have contractions on a consistent basis for a week. I guess we will see what happens.

34 Weeks Pregnant

The last week has been going great. I am extremely busy! I am teaching AM kindergarten, Kirk is working nights, and I still have a lot to keep up with on base. We went to the Air Force Ball which was a lot of fun! I also attended the Birth Plan class which would have been interesting except for the young girl in the class that asked a million questions like "how will I know if my water breaks"? Uhmmm, let me think....when you feel like you peed your pants! Below are a few pictures from the Ball. Next week I have a midwife appointment and we should know more.

32 Weeks Pregnant

This week has been going by quickly. Kirk is finally home and should be home for a little while! I had a midwife appointment yesterday and everything was great. I am on track and my glucose tests all came back normal. I also started substitute teaching again this week. I am really tired when I get home but it is great to be back in the classroom. I am feeling really big these days and can't imagine getting any larger. I will have to upload a picture soon.

31 Weeks Pregnant

Everything here has been going amazing! I am doing really well and feel great. Kirk has been gone a lot. I miss him and wish he could be home more but I have a great group of friends from the spouses group. I am uploading a couple pictures from the baby shower I had here in Washington. I could not have asked for a better day. It was sunny and we were able to enjoy the great weather during the shower.

28 Weeks Pregnant

This week was a busy week. I had an ultra sound on Tuesday to monitor the low lying placenta, which is no longer low lying! The placenta has migrated away from the cervix and everything is looking great. On Wednesday I had an appointment with the midwife and glucose testing. Everything was wonderful at the midwife appointment and I should find out the glucose test results soon. I have uploaded a few of the latest ultra sound pictures of Baby T. It was amazing to see the baby again and share that experience with Kirk since he has missed all of the other ultra sound appointments. The baby is projected to way around 2 lbs. 9oz. which is triple its size at the last ultra sound. The baby can keep growing all it wants as long as it stops around the 7 lbs. range and does not get as big as Kirk's birth weight.

26 Weeks Pregnant

This week was a great week overall. I am not sleeping as well; it is hard to stay comfortable. Kirk should be coming home soon and I am excited to show him the Cheetah picture in the baby's room. He asked where the cheetahs were when I kept adding giraffes. I also went to prenatal yoga again today. I always feel great after I leave! Here is a picture of my not so cute anymore belly.

25 Weeks Pregnant

I am continuing to do great! Sometimes I even forget that I am pregnant until I see my BIG belly. Kirk left on Tuesday which has made the week a long one. He is doing well. We are trying to buy a Chevy Equinox....sounds a lot easier than it really has been. We are very particular and cannot find one that is identical to our wish list, but I think we have a winner. Only problem is, the Equinox is in Ballwin, MO. We will see how that goes! I was off of my routine this week which makes me feel like I get little accomplished. This is a new week and back being busy. I hope everyone has a great time at the Lake. Wish I could be there with everyone.

24 Weeks Pregnant

Everything is continuing to go great. I went to the midwife on Tuesday and everything was on track. The baby had a heart rate in the 150's and my belly was measuring accurately. I also officially weigh more than Kirk! Ugh! This week has been really busy. I worked in the babies room a lot, interviewed doulas (found one that I love), and Jeff flew in for the McChord Air Show. It has been wonderful to see him. I am sure Kirk enjoyed the brotherly bonding time also. Kirk leaves on Tuesday for a 15 day trip to the Middle East. At least he should be home for the next ultra-sound on August 10th. I will post some pictures of the babies room and my ever growing belly soon.

22 Weeks Pregnant

This week has been great in Missouri. I have loved the sun and could not get enough of it. The baby and I have been doing great. Thank you to everyone who came to my baby shower and made my day AMAZING! I really enjoyed seeing everyone and getting to catch up. Below is my latest belly photo from the shower. My next appointment will be July 13th.

21 Weeks Pregnant

This week has been a rush of finishing up the school year and flying to Alabama to visit Kirk. I officially had my first day of pregnancy hormones! After traveling all day to get to Alabama I was at my limit and started the on slot of crying for no real reason. I cried because I was hungry, because my flight was delayed, because I got lost driving to Maxwell AFB, because I missed my cats, and because I had to sleep on the other side of the bed. The last of which prompted Kirk to ask me if I was really crying because I had to sleep on the other side of the bed which then started the laughing hysterically and crying combination. Which only got worse when Kirk asked "What is wrong with you?". All I can say is I had enough hormonal breakdowns in one day to last the entire pregnancy. Other than the day of hormones, my visit to Alabama has been great and I have really enjoyed being able to spend time with Kirk. I have also been doing well and going for walks everyday and enjoying the sun.

20 Weeks Pregnant

Went and had my ultrasound this morning. Everything is looking great with the baby and he/she is measuring right on schedule. I have a low lying placenta that the doctors will be monitoring. I will go back for another ultrasound in around 7 weeks to check the distance of the placenta from cervix at that time. The baby was full of energy today and doing somersaults making it very difficult for the technician to take his/her picture. Here are some pictures from today's ultrasound.

19 Weeks Pregnant

Sorry that I have not made an update in a while. Kirk has been in Alabama and I have been staying really busy with squadron functions, teaching, and the 7 wk. old kitten that we adopted. We have named her Chance. She is full of energy and a lot of fun. I am doing great and have not had any problems. I go on June 18th for my 20 wk. ultra-sound. I can't wait! I should also have a couple of job interviews next week for a couple of full time teaching positions. I will be done teaching for this school year on June 21st and fly out to Alabama and Missouri on the 22nd.

16 Weeks Pregnant

Everything is going great this week. I went to prenatal yoga Sunday and have been going on a 1.5 - 2 mile walk every morning. Kirk and I also attended a birth options class on Monday evening. It was interesting to learn about all of the different ways to labor and prepare for birth. I also had my last blood draw for the genetics screenings. I am assuming we will find out results in around a month. I am still always tired, but I also attribute that to working with 27 first graders. Only 16 more school days though! Here is the latest picture of my 16 almost 17 week belly.

15 Weeks Pregnant

Went to the midwife yesterday. Everything is going great and I am not having any issues. Sorry there is nothing really new to report. I will go for an ultra-sound on June 18th and have a hypno-birthing and birth options class to attend in a few weeks. We received our nursery furniture on Saturday! I love it! They are both considered lifetime pieces. The changing table is a dresser and the crib becomes a toddler bed and then a headboard and footboard. Kirk wanted to know why the baby has nicer furniture than we do. Here are a couple pictures of the furniture and one of my growing bump.

13 Weeks Pregnant

On Friday I had an ultra sound to check up on the baby and look for genetic disorders like Down Syndrome and Spina Bifida. The ultra sound lasted around 20 minutes and was amazing. The baby was extremely active: rolling, kicking, turning, and sucking its fingers. I did not receive any pictures but the baby was between 7 to 8 cm from the butt to the top of the head. That measurement puts the babies growth around 14 weeks. I cannot describe how exciting it was to see the baby move around so much, I wish Kirk could have been there! I will receive results from all the genetic testing late in the second trimester, so everyone just needs to pray for a healthy baby. I am still doing great and am not having any real problems. Just the normal indigestion and exhaustion. I think after some of the pregnancy stories I have heard that I am really lucky!

12 Weeks Pregnant

This week was especially difficult as I was working full time, orchestrated cheerleading tryouts at the high school, and came down with a nasty cold. All I can say is thank god Kirk was home. I have the best husband, who made this week possible. I also went to a JBF consignment sale and was able to find some amazing deals on a few baby items. Above is a picture of my little bump at 12 weeks.

Consignment Sale Finds:

Now we can go hiking as a family...Kirk already knows he will have to carry the little one!
I found an infant bounce seat and a play mat...

and a brand new Baby Bjorn that was only $20.00! I love a good deal.

Eleven Week Appointment

This appointment was really nice because Kirk was actually able to go with me! We were able to hear the heart beat for the first time which was really exciting! The hear beat was between 156-158 beats per minute and the midwife could tell that the baby was moving and kicking by different sounds on the Doppler. Good for the baby but bad for me was that I had gained another two pounds...the nurse made fun of me for even being concerned about wait gain. I guess I am just going to have to get used to that.
